Jesuit’s Bryce Bonner
Jesuit High School’s Junior Catcher Bryce Bonner showed up and showed out Saturday in the final stanza of the best two of three in the beauty called Jesuit vs Rowlett. Well the first two were beauties if you like defense, both teams pulled out 1-0 victories. Saturday was all Jesuit as they advanced on the heels of its pitching acumen and timely hitting and great defense.
But this story is about Bryce, who In addition to controlling the pitching game deftly, also contributed at the plate, going 1-3 while hitting the ball hard during each at bat.
Bryce is gaining a legion of fans for his stellar play behind the plate. But what’s not to like. Take a look:
- 5.9 190 lbs.
- 1.81 pop time
- 23 on ACT
- 3.5 GPA
And don’t discount a tremendous family and support system.
I suspect we’ll hear more from Bryce as he leads the nation’s #3 ranked team next week in the regional quarterfinal round against traditional power Highland Park in a 7:00 PM tilt at HP High School.
Don’t dare miss a chance to see one of the metroplex’s best catchers.
